Mavis Chan，aka XIU 秀敏, is a freelance multimedia artist whose creative practice is hugely influenced by the Japanese and retro-American culture.
XIU likes to challenge herself to experiment with different styles and themes. At the same time, she often returns to her study of designing & photography techniques, updating styles & skills as she charts her course through the art world. Relying on her autodidactic abilities and her passion for the vintage culture, XIU channels a rich web of references and motifs into her artistic style.
XIU is currently residing in Hong Kong. In addition to maintaining an active artistic practice, XIU is also an undergraduate student at Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts with a concentration in Film and Television (Editing & Sound Design Major), previously studying Marketing BBA major at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She warmly accepts photography, illustration, videography & graphic design commissions from clients across the globe. XIU's works are exclusively showcased on her Instagram @xiu.archives
